Naturally Increase your Energy

Lazy, Fatigued, Tired, No Motivation?

Your not alone! At the moment I am currently working at a health food store helping customers with the supplements. Do you know what the most common thing in people asking about? ENERGY AND SLEEP.

It's true! I feel like every person out there is suffering from stress, or low energy levels. Especially living in the environment we do, it's not very surprising! From environmental stressors to personal stressors like relationships, work etc. our body absorbs stress and bad energy like a sponge. The amount of stress our body is in.. will create a negative effect.

Stress puts the adrenal glands into overdrive (our stress organs) which sit right on top of your kidneys. If your adrenal glands are working to hard, they are constantly releasing cortisol (the stress hormone) into the body. With cortisol constantly being released, this is when the feeling of fatigue and tiredness sets in. Also, if you have ever felt a pinching feeling near your kidneys, this could be overworked adrenal glands causing the kidneys to inflame. It's super important to de-stress and take a load off your shoulders! Luckily, there are many natural ways and remedies to de-stress and bring the body back into a healthy balance.. that have been proven to have positive effects on relaxing the body. Here are a few of my favorite recommendations!

NUTRITION

What you eat is what fuels your body! Nutritious fresh foods give your body life and energy. Did you know some foods actually have energy boosting nutrients like B vitamins and Iron? Pretty cool!

​Superfoods are also an amazing way to increase energy levels. They are packed with tons of different properties like antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and bioflavonoids. Fresh organic foods ​have energy and a life force, processed foods do not!

Processed foods like white flour & sugar, hydrogenated oils etc. are the foods that should be avoided when trying to bring the body back to life!

You see, foods that's have been gone through processing treatments in a factory have basically lost their life force. If you are eating these processed foods you will not be fueling your body with anything, no energy no life force. This is why eating fresh and healthy is so important when wanting to increase energy levels. ​Some of my favorite foods to increase energy are beets, quinoa, dark leafy greens and bananas. ​I have several posts about nutrition guidelines on my website.

GET MOVING

Exercise is one of my favorite ways to decrease stress and boost my energy levels! Whatever type of exercise you choose, get up and GET MOVING. Exercise is proven to release the hormone endorphin, which is called one of our happy hormones! Not only does it improve your overall health and makes you look AMAZING but it actually makes you happy :)

Exercising boosts metabolism, improves cardiovascular health and the central nervous system, sheds fat and increases lean muscle. All of these amazing effects from exercising combined will 100% increase your energy levels!

SUPPLEMENT

There are TONS of supplements on the shelves it can be very overwhelming when choosing the right one for you. As I said earlier in this post, the most common question people come in asking about is energy and sleep. I'm going to show you a few of my favorite supplements for increasing energy levels and reducing stress.

HERBS

​There are tons of plants and herbs that have amazing effects increasing energy nd decreasing stress levels. Herbs are safe to use for most people but it is highly recommended to consult a health practitioner if you have any health issues like high or low BP, depression and more. A few of my personal favorite herbs for boosting energy levels are.. ​Schisandra, Ashwagandha, Maca, Rhodiola, Ginseng, Holy Basil and Cordyceps Mushroom.

SUPERFOODS

​Superfoods are another amazing way to boost energy levels. They provide your body with a wide variety of nutrients you wouldn't consume on a daily basis. Superfoods are very nutrient dense, packed with antioxidants, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. All of these amazing properties can support your adrenal glands & help bring it back to proper functioning! They can be eaten or taken as a supplement. My favorite superfoods are... Hemp Hearts, Greens Powder, Raw Pure Honey and Raw Cacao.

MAGNESIUM (Mg)

Magnesium is essential for life. It's needed for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Mg is considered the "natural tranquilizer" in the holistic world! It relaxes the smooth, cardiac & skeletal muscles and the nervous system. Most of use are very depleted from Mg and it gets even more depleted when we are stressed. Taking Mg daily will help with stress levels, ultimately improving your overall energy! ​One of the best absorbed forms is magnesium bis-glycinate.

UN-PLUG

Like I mention in the rest section below in-plug your electronics before you go to bed. I know a lot of people like to be on cell phones immediately before they go to bed, hey sometimes I do to haha! Being exposed to light late at night when your body is trying to sleep actually sets off your day time hormones like serotonin and pushes away the hormones like melatonin, which you produce when you sleep. ​Staying away from artificial light before you go to sleep for at least 1 hour will help you get a restful & full sleep, so you can wake up feeling much more energized!

REST

Last but not forgotten, REST. Rest is 100% needed for the body to recover. Especially being exposed to daily stressors, we should be getting 8-9 hours of real rest every single night. Not laying in bed for 8-9 hours but being on your phone for 1-2 out of those hours like I mentioned in the section above! Set a time to go to bed and set a time to wake up. Doesn't matter if you go to bed at 9 and wake up at 5, keep it in a 8 hour zone. Ensure you are giving yourself this rest every night for at least one week. Your body will be able to regenerate itself leaving you feeling completely refreshed. This is the feeling you want to wake up with to start an energizing day!
