What is Detox?

DETOXIFICATION = A process or period of time in which one abstains from or rids the body of toxic or unhealthy substances; detoxification.

The word DETOX is thrown around like nothing these days! When realistically it is a internally cleansing process that takes place naturally in our bodies 24/7. The liver, intestinal tract, kidneys, lungs, lymphatic system and skin all work to detoxify the body. Our liver acts as a filter and detoxifies our body from harmful substances and chemicals, artificial food additives, environmental toxins, poisonous substances and free radicals. When your body is detoxifying it is improving the overall wellbeing and function of your body. Although the liver can get overworked and congested by the amount of toxins coming into your body, which will lead to the need for liver support (improved detox). To optimize the detoxifying process in your body you must decrease the amount of toxins that go into your body.

Our bodies are an amazing machine but it is hard to know when our internal cleansing systems (like the liver) are not functioning properly. When we eat something bad our stomach will give us a signal immediately. But when the liver isn't functioning properly and something harmful comes into our bodies, the liver does not give out the same type of signal as the stomach would. So it is hard to tell when there is a congested liver or a need for supported detoxification.

How do you know if you need Detox Support?

The liver will give your body signs when it is not functioning properly or if it is congested:

Acne Rashes Itchy skin Bad breath Congested sinuses Abdominal bloating Weight loss resistance Cravings Moodiness Chemical sensitivity Insomnia
